WONDER WOMAN? MAYBE?

“I’m not saying i’m Wonder Woman, 

i’m just saying no one has ever seen me 

and Wonder Woman at the same time together.”  

I’d say we’re right at the centre of winter, with christmas day greeting us tomorrow. Still can’t believe it’s that time of year again, this year has gone by so quickly! 

Since autumn i’ve been really excited to layer it up. I’m not a huge fan of the cold and bitter wind winter brings us, but when it comes to the fashion and style aspect of it, i’m hooked. Of course over the few months i’ve been to the shops collecting sweaters, coats, boots, capes you name it, some of which i’ll be sharing with you all, over the next few posts. 

I’m not too keen on skirts, but I saw this one during a random trip to Oxford Street when I popped into Zara and I guess you can see the result of that. I like the style and length of the skirt and think it’s one of a few which can be worn with many different items such as tank tops, denim, chiffon or silk shirts perhaps. 

I’m a strong believer that shoes can completely change the way an outfit looks. As seen above I decided to throw on a pair of smart loafers to give the outfit more of a casual day time feel to it. 

Although i’ve paired this fit with my Kurt Geiger heels my best friend bought me for my 21st birthday, I think the look would also look great with a pair of black court heels or wedges. 

As for the cape... I spotted it, I tried it on, I fell in love and I ran like Usain Bolt to the till. I feel like this is a must have wardrobe statement piece. I’ve always wanted a cape and have struggled at previous times to find the right one which is smartly presented, hangs right and doesn’t consume me like an elephant. This cape was definitely a great find. 

I love a good coat at this time of year and unlike a coat, which covers your outfit underneath,  I love the cape’s design because it’s light and your outfit can still be seen while you’re kept warm. 

Back in the day, Ladies and gents wore capes and cloaks as a fashion statement, to keep them warm or to prevent their expensive clothing from being damaged, where today a coat would crush or wrinkle what you wear. As for the comic world, they’re seen on characters such as Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman and this cape sure made me feel like a Wonder Woman. 

History repeats itself in marvellous ways.
