REALITY OF THE JANUARY BORN

Hello all and welcome to 2017!!! Put your hands in the air, you made it to another year, a fresh start and a chance to get things right if you didn't quite get there in 2016, 2015 and the year before that!

It was my birthday this past tuesday and like anybody born at least within the first 10 days of January, you're often forgotten about...unless of course you've got great family members and friends with a good memory, to ensure you receive all the birthday attention you deserve.

Otherwise, everyone is too busy detoxing from Christmas, New years and are now too broke to function. Don't worry though, it gets better. While everyone somehow still has room for the sales, you've got to be wary of their pockets in hopes that they'll save a little room for your special day. Yeah no chance...more like "Can't make it tonight luv, TopShop's got 70% off".

At this point, it's freezing cold and most people just want to hibernate in doors. If that's not enough, it's "ahh gee i've just started at the gym, (which they'll quit in february) in the attempt to shake off the endless desserts, alcohol, 4 course meals and left over chocolates, they've been chucking down their throats over the past two weeks.

January babies usually get used to hearing 101 excuses! Let's not forget the 2 for 1 duo of gifts received. Luckily, that hasn't been the case for me.

This year I kept my birthday pretty quiet. I did a little exercise with a friend in the morning, reflected over 2016, chilled out and went to dinner with my family in the evening.

I've been loving large dangle/drop earrings lately and plush pink shades, so I took a day look and spiced it up with a pair of heels and silk, sticking to neutral tones.

As I was too busy eating, unfortunately there are no photos of the delicious food we ate that evening. If you follow me on snapchat, you're more likely to catch the evidence! ;)
