With all jokes aside guys, this truly was the year of realizing things...for those of you who perhaps aren’t sure of the joke reference, please see the following video of our dear friend Kylie Jenner, who brought to us the message of the year! > 2016:REALIZING!

This year has been pretty insane and I feel as though a lot has been packed into what seemed like the space of a week. Dramatic, but honestly where has the time gone and how did we manage to deal with the numerous events of political catastrophes, endless hopes and happenings that went down the drain?

This year hasn’t been the easiest for me but thankfully i’ve experienced a great balance. For the first time ever I became 100% involved in politics, perhaps because it effected me and my generation in a number of ways or maybe i'm just getting old.

Brexit and Trump truly kicked up a storm within us all, whether we agreed with the decisions made or not. Tragedies grew month after month around the world and without sounding too morbid, this year seemed like the year of death.  Almost every month there was an announcement of a celebrity passing or an attack. In fact there were about 36 attacks, some of which made it to the main news spread and others which fizzled across social media.

This was meant to be the year of hope right? The year we all were incredibly certain would be great?! In comparison to this time last year it seems as though everyone has been humbled by 2016.

The year which silenced us all.

Related imageRealizing things’ may have represented a hell of a lot for you from relationships, to careers, life experiences etc. Whatever it was for you this year, it’s evident that Kylie’s simple statement was true. I spent most of the year mocking the endless meme only to discover that Jenner here had us fooled. Well guess what Kylie I get it now, I realized!

Nevertheless, I’m incredibly grateful to have made it to the end, I’ve cracked through a number of goals and experiences and I hope that while this year has been tough, you’ve managed to pull through too. I’ve had a firm grip on handling situations and emotions throughout 2016, finally learning to let go of things that no longer serve me and that of which I can’t control. Most of all I’ve learnt a lot about strengths I didn't know I had, loving those from a distance without losing myself in the process and facing the power of fear.

The days between Christmas and the New Year are usually those where i’m not sure what to do with myself. It’s that awkward stage where you’re dying for the year to start fresh and anticipating what the year ahead has in store for you. If you haven’t thought about the progression of next year, I hope you all use the next four days left to sit down and reflect on the year you’ve had and how you can rise above it!

Throw all that is negative away and invite nothing but positivity in.

See you all in 2017 and lets hope Kylie warns us of how it’ll go a lot sooner this time.
